Book Buddies of East Texas is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, founded in 2016 to serve East Texas’ children by providing them with their own books.

ABOUT BOOK BUDDIES

Book Buddies relies on many different partners who make it possible to achieve our mission.  With the help of Better World Books, as well as individual book donations, we collect new and gently loved books year round. As a community we work together to deliver books into the hands of East Texas children.

SCHOOLS WE SERVE

Each year Book Buddies distributes over 60,000 children’s books to school districts, Daycare facilities & The Boys & Girls Clubs throughout East Texas. Please contact Book Buddies if you are interested in receiving information.

HOW IT WORKS

Book Buddies receives book donations and collects books all year.  Volunteers are needed to count, sort, box and inventory the books for distribution to the individual schools. All we ask is that each School District provide transportation of the books from the warehouse to the school. In May, the students, grades Pre-K through 5th grade, are invited to attend a book selection fair. Each child may choose up to 6 books that interest them to take home and keep!

VOLUNTEER

Without our volunteers, we would be unable to accomplish our mission of collecting and donating children's books to students in need. We welcome volunteer groups of any size, age or ability to spend their community service hours counting, sorting, boxing and inventorying the books. Students, youth organizations, sports teams, college clubs and teams, civic and social groups are all welcome. Thank you in advance for donating your time and playing such an important role in helping transform the lives of East Texas children through the power of book ownership!
